Average daily high temperatures are around 80 degrees with nighttime lows averaging around 60 degrees. Expect some rain over the course of your stay in Mitla, Oaxaca, Mexico.


Simple housing with shared rooms, flushing toilets, and hot showers. Internet is available, but unreliable at times. No A/C.

Purpose of Program:

To provide meaningful care, fellowship, and instruction to the children of missionary families during their Branch Conference.

Number of Kids in Program:

Approximately 40 kids: ages 3-12 years old

Country Description:

Oaxaca, known as one of the safest states in Mexico, sets 5000 feet above sea level about 300 miles south of Mexico City. It is known for its tasty food, museums, architecture, and rich history.

Debriefing Activity:

Shopping at a local craft market.

Trip Costs:

  • Flights (from the US approximately $800)
  • Refuge 139 Cost $1500 – (includes room/board, in-country expenses, visa, evacuation insurance)

Additional Info.:

Dirt roads and uneven surfaces make it difficult for those with mobility challenges. Those with food allergies or special diets may want to bring their own food or decide to choose another trip.
